Just some thoughts
1. There is a mouse living in/around/under the fireplace. He must die!
2. Went to the mall tonight and saw security guards riding around on Segways…I guess if someone does anything “illegal” they should just run until they find the stairs.
3. London is learning how to Breakdance. That is funny!
4. I have an 80 year old friend named Bart. He is a cool guy. He also studies a book that he believes was brought to earth by aliens. Seriously.
5. Cool stuff to announce on Sunday!
6. Millington HS (back to my Memphis days) is a game away from the State Championship! Made me remember back to the crazy M&M Bowl events at H2O.
Slumber Party
I have an adrenaline addiction. Not theory – I really do. Not too big of a deal though – unless I start jumping off of really tall buildings.
With an adrenaline addiction comes the temptation to never stop. Never stop thinking, working, doing, etc., etc. That can be both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it allows you to get a lot done. A curse because it can cause you to sacrifice relationships, etc., because you think everything depends on you.
Psalm 121:3 provides very good news for people like me…”He will not let you stumble, the one who watches over you will not slumber.” God never sleeps. He stays up all night. Every night. As a result, I need to realize that I don’t have to.
Shelter
One of the challenges that exist in my world is to come out from under the shelter. Not once, but continuously.
Connecting with people involves going to them, not just expecting them to come to us. To intentionally engage real live people – in real live situations – sounds simple, but I am not sure how often it is getting done.
Let’s develop an expectation of engagement. Engaging people who are not like us.
Gratitude
It is funny how you can be hit with things at the most random times. While answering a ton of emails today, I just stopped…
In an extremely busy and intense time – I am realizing how thankful I am for SO many things.
It’s not just a season of thankfulness. It’s the realization – that it should be, it must be – a way of life.
The blessing of God is apparant in my life. I am willing to bet it is in yours as well.
