Coming this Sunday!

Sunday is just a couple of days away and I couldn’t be more excited!

If you were at Freedom last weekend I told you to do whatever it took to bring people with you on Sunday.  If you and/or someone you know is discouraged, overwhelmed or ready to quit than you do not want to miss what is going to happen on Sunday at Freedom Church!

I can’t wait to see you there!

9:45 and 11:30 at Barber Middle School (beside Acworth Elementary).

Bikes or Bust 2011

Bikes or Bust is one of my favorite things that we have ever done at Freedom Church and this year we are bringing it back!   You might be surprised to know that at many of the schools in our community as many as 50-60% of the children are on free or reduced lunch.  Many of these families have just enough to make ends meet but not even close to enough for anything extra.  That’s where you and I come in!  The economic downturn has greatly affected this area but together we can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of families and thousands of people.

Every kid should have a bike and together we can make that happen!

From December 8th (5PM) through December 10th (5PM), staff members of Freedom Church will live in a 50 ft. scissor lift for 48 hours in an effort to raise hundreds of bikes for less fortunate children at 14 Elementary schools within the Acworth and Kennesaw communities.   Before it’s all said and done we will have heard hundreds of stories just like this one asking for help…

For the last year I have been unemployed after losing my job of 3 years. Just recently, I have registered for college and I’m excited about making a better life for my family.

As a single parent, I have managed to provide the basics for my kids over the past year.  However, it’s been very stressful to provide them with school clothes and basic necessities much less Christmas.  My 8 year old son hasn’t owned a bike since he was 3, however, he loves to ride them!  I just am not in a position to purchase one for him during this season of my life.

I don’t want my financially nightmare to affect my son’s Christmas!

Neither do we!  The event happens December 8-10th but you can get involved TODAY!

You can buy a 1 bike ($40), 10 bikes ($400), or just give any amount you choose toward the purchase of bike ($5, etc).  You can give online right now.  Just click on Bikes or Bust in the Drop Down Menu.

Together we can make a difference!

Almost MidWeek Review

  • We had a great day Sunday as 30 people engaged for the first time in the volunteer process at Freedom Church.
  • Proud of them and grateful for what God has done during this series!
  • We’ve seen a few dozen people give their life to Christ, 48 families learning to trust God in the area of their finances through the Giving Challenge, and 30 people engaging in the volunteer process.
  • I love watching people move forward in their journey.
  • We took family pictures this past week and it was actually a lot of fun.  Having pictures taken with a 2 year old boy makes for an interesting experience to say the least.
  • We nailed down our teaching calendar for 2012 a couple months ago and I can’t wait to share with you the direction we are headed over the next year!
  • I love watching people invest in people at work, in their neighborhood, at school, etc.
  • Every single Sunday we hear stories of life-change that begin with “So and so invited me to Freedom and then God did _____.” OR “I’ve noticed a huge change in _____ and then had to come to their church to see what they couldn’t stop talking about.”    You ARE making a difference!
  • Sunday is going to be one of the most encouraging days that you have ever been a part of!  Do not allow the people you love to miss it!  Start inviting now and be praying that God will do what only God can do!
  • See you Sunday!

MidWeek Review

  • So grateful for the stories of life-change I have heard already from this past Sunday!
  • People are taking steps of faith that they thought would be impossible just weeks ago.
  • Generosity is on the increase.
  • Trust in God and His Word are growing.
  • Addictions are being dealt with and overcome.
  • Marriages are undergoing restoration.
  • Jesus is being honored and He is blessing as only He can!
  • Lexi starts guitar and London starts dance this week.
  • Devin just called to let me know that Bryce is in the 94th percentile for height, 85% for weight, and his head measures at 99%.
  • Bryce, like his dad, has a big head apparently. Sorry son.
  • Devin and I have been changing up our date nights each week and it is quite the experience.  I’ll write more about that at a different time.
  • It’s Miami / Florida State week.  Let’s Go Canes.
  • I say this often, but I absolutely love being the Pastor of Freedom Church.  The faith of our people inspire me greatly.
  • The best is yet to come Freedom.  The best is yet to come!
  • Speaking of that – I am pumped up about Sunday.  I say that every week and I mean it every week.  Join me in inviting friends/family to come with you on Sunday.
  • Look forward to seeing you then!
