Does Easter Matter? Maybe. Maybe Not.

No one doubts that Jesus was a real person. He lived, walked, and pulled off some incredible things during His time on this earth. If He lived – it’s clear that He died. It’s what did or didn’t happen next that makes all the difference. Easter. The celebration of Jesus being risen from the dead. Conquering the grave. Defeating death. The most celebrated day on the Christian calendar. Does it matter?

Maybe. Maybe not.

If He isn’t who He said He was & is still dead – the answer is no. Not even a little bit.
If He is who He said He was & is alive – the answer is yes. It matters more than you can imagine.

The world is dark. Addiction, regret, and the crushing weight of constantly falling short are too much to bear. Peace is a mirage. Hope is lost. If Jesus is a fake, a phony, a fraud – it’s Game Over. Lights Out.

A dead Savior can’t save anyone. Not me. Not you.

But what if it’s true. What if Jesus pulled it off? What if addicts could find freedom? What if the hopeless found hope? What if burdens could be lifted? What if peace was offered? What if forgiveness became available? What if those far off could be brought near?

Does Easter matter? It does if it’s true.

If it’s true than your future can be greater than your past. Freedom is available. Peace is possible. Hope is still alive!

If Death couldn’t stop Him & The grave couldn’t hold Him – light can overtake the darkness. Because He lives – So Can WE! I am not talking about merely existing. Living a life that exceeds comprehension. It’s possible. If it’s true! Easter matters. More than we could imagine!

Easter at Freedom is this weekend and it’s a weekend I don’t want you & yours to miss! Invite & bring as many people as possible. Every person within the sound of my voice will hear a clear presentation of the good news of Jesus in a fresh and powerful way! Don’t miss this opportunity!

Easter Invite Ideas

Easter Weekend is just a few days away and we are celebrating in style at Freedom Church. You will have 9 opportunities on 3 different days at two different campuses to bring your friends and family!

As a result, there is no better time to invite. Many of the people who have turned down your invitation in the past will say yes on Easter Weekend.

I have loved seeing the creative ways that you have been inviting people. Here are some more that could give you a few ideas.

  1. Hand out invite cards to a few people you see each day and say “I’d love for you to come with me to church this weekend”.
  2. Buy the persons food behind you in the drive thru line & tell the cashier to give them an Invite Card.
  3. Personally invite the few hundred friends on Social Media that live in the area. (I am not talking about a “Consider yourself invited” post on Facebook. I am talking about a personal message between you and the other person.
  4. Invite those you work for or those who work for you and pick up their breakfast, lunch, or dinner afterwards.
  5. Do something small for some of your neighbors and ask them to come with you this weekend.
  6. Invite your friends, and family – even if they have said no in the past!
  7. Leave an invite card with your restaurant server (with a GREAT tip).
  8. Make a list of five people that you care about and go seek them out.  Pray AND invite!
  9. Invite the players and coaches from your kids sports team.
  10. Scroll through your phone and invite several people each day to attend.

God can use your ordinary invitation and use it to produce extraordinary results.  Many of the people in our community are just one invitation away from experiencing the life that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Your life was changed because someone invited you.  God can use you to do the same for others in Acworth, Kennesaw, and the surrounding communities.

The Final Week!

What a series this has been! The feedback we have received has been phenomenal and I believe we have saved the best for last!

One thing is certain – people are carrying a LOT of baggage. The weight is crushing but it’s a weight you no longer have to carry! I’ll tell you a lot more about that on Sunday at both our campuses. It’s going to be a great day for you and those you bring with you!

Join me at our Kennesaw location at 10:15 / 11:45 or our Acworth location at 8:45, 10:15, 11:45, or 5PM.
You can get directions and more information here.

One Big Sunday!

We have a HUGE week planned and I don’t want you to miss a single moment!

First, I’ll be preaching a message entitled “How To Have An Affair”. No matter who you are – this message will help you! If an affair is the furthest thing from your mind or if you have already traveled down that road – don’t miss this message!

Second, it’s Time Change Weekend! Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour AND for those of you who attend our Acworth location: if you will help us make room at 10:15 by joining us at 8:45 on Time Change Weekend – you get extra credit with Jesus (not really – but I will personally think you are awesome)!
