Things are always busy at Freedom Church. It doesn’t slow down very much – actually I am not sure if it ever has.
With amazing regularity, Sunday shows up every 7 days and since we take the opportunity so seriously – we put everything we have into making each and every worship experience the best that it can be. The moment Sunday is past – thoughts move to the upcoming week. Set lists, message prep, stage design, creative elements, and the list goes on and on.
Stopping to celebrate doesn’t come naturally to me – not even a little. We consistently see God do incredible things. If I am not VERY careful, I pray fervently for God to do a miracle on our behalf, then when He does, I move on to the next thing without stopping to express gratitude.
That being said, I am being forced to learn the discipline of celebration. When God gives us a reason to party – I better stop ignoring the invitation. If I don’t, I might stop receiving them.

I will post many more pictures in the next few days. In the meantime, here is one. We’re doing a series called “Full of It” and we have an extremely large IT in the background. Jason (construction guru) hooked us up and his wife Allyson (photographer extraordinaire) is responsible for 90% of our pictures.
They live in my neighborhood, I baptized them in the old building, and Jason can hit 3-pointers more than he would ever admit. They are awesome.

When it comes to making an impact in this life – you do have a seat at the table!
No one cares whether you attended a Christian University or can recite every verse in the New Testament.
Reading books and/or going to a Christian school doesn’t equip you to reach people far from God any more than watching Rocky IV gets you ready to step into the ring.
Stop short-changing your potential because of your supposed lack of qualifications. God doesn’t do great things with people simply because they are qualified. He qualifies those people that are just crazy enough to trust Him in spite of their supposed lack of qualifications. God has a plan for you – believe it, discover it, and live it out!

The Acworth Egg Drop was a huge success! Well over 5000 people and everyone had a blast.
I love our team of people as I had VERY little to do with this event. Special thanks to Joni Lollis and all the incredible partners from Freedom Church who pulled this crazy thing off! The partnership with the city proved to be a great move – and we are both looking forward to what is in store for next year!
Several publications covered the event, but you can check out some more pictures from the AJC right here.
