Come Home

I’ve been waiting on this series for a long time.

You know people far from God.  They are waiting on an invitation from you and possibly the promise a free lunch afterward :)
Do whatever you have to do in order to bring people with you on Sunday.

Be praying for God to show up and show off this Sunday at 9:45 and 11:15. See you then!

Connecting Values with Decisions

One of the books I recently completed is entitled “Why Great Men Fall”.

Within the book there is a reference to another entitled The End of Management and the Rise of Organizational Democracy. Here is a great excerpt in reference to connecting your values with your decisions.

  • Significance: What values are at play in this decision?
  • Universalizability: What would happen if everyone did what I am about to do?
  • Leadership: What would happen if no one did what I am about to do?
  • Reciprocity: How would I feel if the same standard were applied to me?
  • Publicity:  How would I feel if my action was made public?
  • Defensibility: How easy would it be to justify the action to others?
  • Responsibility: Am I willing to take responsibility for the action or inaction, no matter what the outcome?
  • Intuition: Does the action feel right or wrong to me?
  • Legacy: Am I willing for my children to live with the consequences of my action or inaction?

Don’t make the mistake of live and learn.  Choose to learn and live.

MidWeek Review

  • What an incredible couple of weeks!
  • Christmas Eve at Freedom Church was fantastic.  Best attendance in our history, several people accepted Christ, and all of our partners did an incredible job.
  • The production department hit a home run!  Great job!
  • Our less than two year old church gave $80,000 in order to get ready for the opportunities that God has in store for 2010!  God is doing some incredible things in regard to generosity at Freedom!
  • This week we are giving away several thousand dollars to local organizations in our city.  Can’t wait!
  • The day after Christmas our family went to the lake for a few days.  I chopped things down with a chainsaw, made a huge fire, and went fishing in the middle of Lake Oconee when it was around 27 degrees.
  • Piece of advice :: Don’t take a boat out on the lake when it is that cold.  Wow!
  • One of our girls hates peanut butter.  The other hates mayonnaise.  As a result, when they argue we put a dot of peanut butter and/or mayonnaise on their nose for a few minutes.  It’s quite hilarious.
  • This coming Sunday we are kicking off a series that I couldn’t be more excited about.  If you care about your friends and family that are far from God – you will do whatever you have to do in order to get them to Freedom on Sunday.
  • I am so grateful for all that God has done in 2009 and I am ecstatic about the possibilities that exist in 2010.

Knowledge is Easy

A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge is easy to one who has understanding.  Proverbs 14:6

If we are willing to pay attention to the people that God has placed around us than wisdom is not that difficult to come by.  Seeing eye to eye on every minute detail of life is not a prerequisite to the ability to obtain information and wisdom.  We can and should learn from anyone and everyone.  Truth is truth regardless of where you find it.

People who have a hard time learning and obtaining the knowledge they are looking for might want to look within.  An attitude of arrogance could be the culprit blocking the flow of knowledge that you so eagerly desire.

Bible Reading Plans

Here are a few fantastic resources to help saturate you with the Word of God during 2010.  Bible reading plans sound intimidating on the front end and frustrating throughout if you consistently find yourself falling behind.

It doesn’t have to be that way!

Here are few resources to help you whether you have been reading the Bible for years or this will be your very first attempt.

ONLINE READING PLANS ::

ONLINE/PDF/PRINTABLE PLANS ::

Look things over and find a plan that works for you.  Miss a few days – just pick up where you left off.  When you miss a meal it doesn’t mean you give up on eating.  Stick with it!

Nothing will have a greater impact on your life in 2010 than the time you spend with God.  Don’t believe me?  Give it a shot!  You won’t be disappointed!
