We are kicking off a brand new series entitled Freedom 2.0, adding 2 creative elements that you do not want to miss, and making a huge announcement!

Do not miss this Sunday and I would advise you and your guests to get there early!           9:45 and 11:15!  See you then!

From a guy who gets it…

Here is an encouraging note that I just received via email.  It comes from a man that has been with us from the very beginning.

I want to thank each of you and congratulate Freedom Church on an incredible two year journey.  God is truly alive and it shows each Sunday. It has been amazing to experience and witness the large number of lives that have been changed as a result of God’s Hand on Freedom.  I have personally experienced more changes in my life these past two years than the entire forty plus years in church prior to Freedom.

It has been an educational experience as I have learned to grow and change how I view church and people.  Change is not always easy or welcomed, but the reward is worth the challenge and fight.  The way you connect God’s Word each week to relevant issues has opened my eyes and heart to a new way of thinking and living.  I now have a new perspective as to what it means to love, forgive, honor, be generous, believe, not judge and have mercy.  For the first time in my life I do not want to miss church and miss out experiencing our amazing God at work.

I know this is just the beginning of greater things to come.  These past two years have truly been a God thing and as a result, Freedom Church is making it hard to go to Hell in Acworth.  Because of your relentless pursuit to change lives, commitment and prayers, people now can experience life in Christ.  Thanks for taking the risk.  Many thanks to each of you and the partners who make this thing called Freedom Church work.

We serve an incredible God who has generously allowed us to partner with an incredible group of people.  Honored to be on this journey together!

  • What an incredible day on Sunday!  34 people accepted Christ!
  • So proud of the people at Freedom.  You are the most inviting group of people I have ever seen!  Great job and keep it up!  God is changing lives and your simple invitation is making a difference!   Way to go!
  • Come Home has been an incredible series.  Over the past three weeks 63 people have given their lives to Jesus!
  • Mantra for the series – Forsake religion:  Embrace Jesus.
  • The 50′s Skating party for all our partners was a blast!  I loved having the opportunity to meet and hang out with the people at Freedom Church who make it happen each and every week.
  • The pictures from this event will be hilarious!  I’ll post some soon.
  • Had the privilege to hang out with some great leaders for the past couple of days.  Grateful to learn from such a great group of guys!
  • It was great to get away for a few days heading into such a busy season at Freedom Church, but now it is great to be back!
  • Devin and I joined a Group at Freedom a few weeks ago.  First time we have been involved in a group since we started the church and we are having a great time.  If you aren’t in a group – get in one now!  Email us at info@freedomchurch.tv for more information.
  • One of my mentors celebrated the 10 Year Anniversary of their church on Sunday with 15,000 people at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville SC.  God is doing great things!  He has been so good to us at Freedom Church and we are bringing 77 people to his one-day conference called Unleash.  Only a few of those 77 tickets remain so if you are interested email us quickly at info@freedomchurch.tv!

Delivering a Baby

By J.R., 26 January, 2010, No Comment

I have the privilege of talking with church planters all the time.   I talk with guys who are doing a great job, guys who will do a great job, and guys who could go either way.  With that in mind…

One statement that I hear consistently is that “it’s easier to deliver a baby than it is to raise the dead”.  You definitely can’t argue against that; however, it doesn’t mean that delivering a baby is easy.   I’ve never done it, but I am assuming (based on how much it cost) that delivering a baby is a little complicated.

The same is true of planting a church.  You have to do your homework, spend massive amounts of time with God, and learn from people who are ahead of you.   If you don’t – regardless of how “innovative”, “relevant”, or “biblical” you think you are, your church planting journey will be a short one.

6 Days and Counting…

By J.R., 25 January, 2010, No Comment

The following is a post that I wrote on this day two years ago leading up to the launch of Freedom Church.  Two years later the excitement and expectancy that characterized that season of my life has only intensified.

Still can’t believe that we are less than 6 days away from something that we have been talking about for the past couple years!

The journey leading up to this point has been incredible!  I feel like all the hard work is coming together and everyone is ready for Sunday!

We are asking people to not just pray for Freedom Church, but to pray for the city of Acworth.  We aren’t here to just plant another church -we are here to transform a city.   The next phase begins very soon.  Can’t wait!

That post is eerily similar to how I feel today.  It’s been an incredible journey up to this point and I am grateful for what is ahead.  I said it then and I will say it again…I can’t wait til Sunday!

Start time is at 9:45 and 11:15!  Get there early!
