MidWeek Review

  • We had a very solid day on Sunday to close out the summer.  Technically, half our people still have a few more days of summer, but you get the idea.
  • 34 first time guests, 35 people signed up to partner, and lives were changed.  God has great things planned!
  • I was sick!  My throat had been killing me all weekend, but when it was all said and done – my throat was bleeding after the 2nd worship experience.  Not good.
  • I decided I am going to get some voice lessons.  If it works for Blake and Tyler – I guess it can work for me.  No I am not going to start singing any time soon, but I need my voice to last as long as possible.  Any other preachers out there ever done that?  Did it help?
  • We are in the market for a full-time Children’s Pastor.  You interested?  See this post.
  • Do not miss Sunday!  Laying out the vision for the next 6 months and it’s going to be incredible…Perhaps :)
  • I am so honored and grateful to lead such an incredibly faith-filled group of people!  Thank you.
  • My 4 month old can knock out 6 oz faster than your 4 month old.
  • I am filled with equal parts excitement and paranoia about the next several months.  Praying huge prayers.
  • If you normally come to the 11:00 – don’t forget that I need at least 50 of you to switch to 9:30 beginning this week.  Thanks in advance!
  • Can’t wait til Sunday.  See you then!

Opportunity at Freedom

Since the inception of Freedom Church about 18 months one of our vital ministries has been led by partners and part-time staff members.   Those leaders have done an incredible job!  Actually, they have done so well, that we are now going to bring in a full-time person to oversee, lead, and take our Children’s Ministry of over 100+ kids to the next level.

With that in mind – I am officially opening up the search.  Think you might be the right person for this opportunity?  Here are a couple thoughts to consider before sending in a resume…

  1. We’re not trying to fill a position and we aren’t playing games.  If you’re just looking for a “job”.  Don’t waste your time.
  2. We work like it depends on us, pray like it depends on God, and are quick to give Him all the glory for the results.
  3. You need to love Jesus, love church, love people who are far from God – and be willing to do whatever it takes so that they may experience life in Christ.
  4. Loving kids is vital but knowing how to lead a large group of adults is essential as well.
  5. Being a team player is a MUST!
  6. You need to passionately believe that Children are not the church of tomorrow – they are the church of today!

Obviously this isn’t an all-inclusive list, but it should get the ball rolling.  This will be a dream situation for the right person!
