Give-Away

Since none of you (in this area anyway) won the mega-million dollar lottery this past weekend – I want to give you the next best thing :)

Old Time Religion

Only a couple more days to invite your friends, neighbors, family, etc. to week 3 of OTR…

I have been praying for the people you are bringing with you.  Please do the same as we are expecting close to 100 first time guests!  It’s going to be a life-changing day for so many people!

Don’t forget that I need 100 of you to make the switch and begin attending at 9:30 and partnering at 11. The 11:00 Worship Experience is the most opportune time for First Timers.  Let’s make sure we have room for them as last week we were SLAMMED!

New to Freedom Church? We are hosting a Newcomers Lunch after both Worship Experiences on Sunday.  Great time for you to hear the vision and direction of Freedom as well as get hooked up with free lunch.  The whole thing lasts only 45 minutes and Childcare is provided.  See you then!

USA Today

USA Today published a poll that asked people to finish the line “I’d give more, but…”

Here are the results:

  • 84% said they doubted their donation would be put to good use.
  • 80% said job demands left them no time to participate.
  • 79% said they had no excess income to give.
  • 70% said family commitments consumed their extra time.

The poll definitely shows the importance of institutional financial integrity, keeping things simple in order to maximize a persons time, and teaching people how to get and stay out of debt.

Almost MidWeek Review

  • I am so proud of the people at Freedom Church and I am honored to be on this journey with them!
  • Over 200 First Time Guests so far during the month of August and we still have another week left!
  • Spoke on Repentance Sunday.  Tough message for sure but it was received very well.
  • I am in a Pro Fantasy Football League with some incredible leaders from all over the Country.  I NEVER do very well in these things and my goal is to remember to set my team each week.
  • I say this all the time, but we are alive during the greatest time in history to reach people with the message of Jesus!  God’s doing incredible things all over the world.
  • Devin and I went to our default restaurant (Cheesecake Factory) for lunch on Friday. It was made even better because of a Gift Card.  I love Cheesecake Factory and I love Gift Cards.  Food tastes better when it’s free!
  • Sunday is going to be a powerful day.  Pray that God does what only He can do.  Invite and bring with you as many people as possible.
  • Seriously.  If you have friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and/or people you go to school with who are far from God – do whatever you have to do in order to get them to Freedom Church on Sunday!  See you then!

OTR Set Design

Love what our set design team is able to pull off with each series.  Those guys do an incredible job!

Old Time Religion has been a lot of fun so far!  Stained Glass Windows, Fans, Bulletins, Offering Plates, a Gospel Choir and a big honking pulpit to top it all off.  As always, Allyson has done a great job with the pics.  Here are a few.
