I think Freedom Church is the best church in this area. I really do. I’m not saying that to stir the waters or because I am arrogant. I am saying it because I believe it to be true. Sounds strange doesn’t it? Who actually puts that in print for all of blog-world to see?
Let’s be honest. Wouldn’t we be much better off if every Pastor thought their church was the best on the planet? What’s the alternative? If I am the Pastor of a church operating in deficiency – shouldn’t I do everything I possibly can to change the culture and correct the issue? That’s not arrogance – that is leadership.
I have great friends that lead great churches right down the street from Freedom. I pray for them, hang out with them, believe in them, and I hope (and know) that they believe that THEIR church is the greatest church on the planet. That’s the way it should be. If you don’t think your church is the best…what’s keeping it from getting there? Maybe that’s the exact thing that God is calling you to address.
Don’t apologize for the desire to become the best (whether personally or professionally). Lives are at stake. Hell is very real and we don’t know how much time we have. Not to mention, false humility is just as repugnant as pride.

I can’t tell you how cool it feels to actually be excited about church. I just wanted to thank you for being obedient to the call of God and making Freedom Church happen. It is truly an honor to serve with you, to see people in this city be filled with life in Christ.
Great post man. We have an obligation to serve with our whole hearts no matter what our context or position on staff. If our church isn’t the best, we ought to work our tails off to get it there. Our task is too important to fail!
